Resistance is not a one lane highway

Synaptic Art by Natalie Doud

"Resistance is NOT a one lane highway.   Maybe your lane is protesting,  maybe your lane is organizing,  maybe your lane is counseling,  maybe your lane is art activism,  maybe your lane is surviving the day.   Do NOT feel guilty for not occupying every lane. We need all of them." @Lindss_tastic

I am disappointed that there is still so much violence within our own city streets and beyond. But I am optimistic that there is enough momentum to keep this movement growing and am proud to see members of our OmCulture community on the streets asking the public for actionable solutions. We are now faced with the paradox of choice with a plethora of peaceful protests and marches to choose from on a daily basis. But the continued violence stirs up a lot of fear. Choosing to peacefully protest requires a great amount of courage.

I've heard from many of you that you feel depleted, frustrated, angry and sad. I have been doing my best to keep my vibration high with yoga and meditation, but a sense of heaviness can overwhelm and arrive in strong waves. When I feel low and unable to shift my energy upwards, I find strength in peaceful mantras that help to calm my nerves long enough to rediscover my center and my own resiliency. I created a playlist to help you find strength and inner peace in your darkest moments. I hope these songs will bring you comfort and allow your mind, body and spirit to settle and rest so you can recharge and rise up once more.

The majority of the songs are created by 'Beautiful Chorus' who come together to create high frequency love music. The second track is by Alexa Sunshine Rose, a local bright light from Port Townsend.

Please keep taking good care of yourself and those around you. Thank you for being part of our community and for recognizing and feeling gratitude for the privilege we share in our ability to pause for peaceful and reverent practices together. I encourage you to keep bringing yourself to your mat again and again even if you don't feel like moving. Carve out the time to stay rooted in your practice and show yourself unconditional love and compassion. Sometimes your yoga may be resting in child's pose or savasana for an hour, or sitting in stillness and letting the tears flow. Please allow yourself to pause, go inward and be present with any and all emotions and thoughts that rise to the surface.

with deep breaths and virtual hugs,

Sarah
