OmCulture is a visionary institution dedicated to the art of moving the body to move the mind to a peaceful place. We strive to create an open, welcoming community that makes everyone feel at hOMe. We are committed to building this community through the practice of yoga, dance, wellness and other (body, breath, balance) movement practices. We nurture adults, children, and toddlers in being happy, connected, and deeply in tune with their bodies.
The teachers and staff at OmCulture strive to promote and share the healing, growth, and transformation movement can create with people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Our teachers are curated from the best yoga teachers in Seattle to bring strong, well informed practices to your mat and body.
We aim to develop compassionate communities, create opportunities to play and breathe, and provide space to create real connections in a busy, breathless world.
OmCulture was first founded as two yoga studios, under the name Yogalife, with the intention of creating a place for healing and transformation through yoga. OmCulture owner Michael Suzerris recognized the amazing potential of yoga as a path for healing after experiencing a life-altering spinal injury in 1978. Since then, he has worked tirelessly to share the healing power and inner wisdom yoga and other forms of movement have to offer.
The original OmCulture studio - a large, dream space in Wallingford - was created in 2009, with the intent to expand the Yogalife/OmCulture community to include people of all ages, from children to adults. This new space provided the opportunity to offer a greater variety of other physical activities that go well beyond yoga, including ecstatic dance, tango partner dancing, acro yoga, kids programs, and much more!
In 2016, Michael decided to combine the studios under one name - OmCulture - as a way to develop a greater sense of community, encourage students to try new classes, and create a more cohesive online presence. Now, OmCulture is thriving as a yoga, dance, wellness, community space, open and welcoming to people of all ages and backgrounds.
