You may have heard about A Night Out for Folklife on November 14th. Busy on the 14th? So are we! That's why we are organizing an Afternoon Out for Folklife on November 15 and we are hoping to raise $1000 (or more) for Folklife!
2:00-3:00pm Bluegrass Concert - Cider on the Mountain (a bluegrass band featuring Shoreline Community College Bluegrass Class students!) Stay tuned- we may have a special guest joining us!
3:00-5:00pm All Ages Community Dance, called by the generous and kind Charmaine Slaven. Music for the dance will be provided by Mostly Neighbors, a local 5 piece Old Timey band of neighborhood friends who've performed the past three years at Folklife. We'd like to thank Terrie, Danny, and Brian from Mostly Neighbors providing sound for the event.
5:00-6:00pm Hopefully a little jamming and possibly a soup potluck (check for updates on this detail!)
Interspersed throughout the afternoon will be additional performances (kid musicians - can't beat that!), a possible bake sale, and we'll have a few of the Famous Folklife Button Apron people.
How will we thank you for helping us reach our fundraising goal?
The first 100 people who donate $10 will receive an archive quality (read: old, maybe even 5 months old!) Folklife button.
The first 10 people who renew their Friends of Folklife membership or make a donation of $50 or more at the event will receive a bluegrass or old time CD.
Finally, the first 8 individuals who donate $100 or more will be entitled to access to the "Folklife Super Supporter Square" for the entire dance.
Please let us know if you are interested in volunteering. We'll need folks to set-up and take down chairs and tables, attend to the needs of the Folklife Super Supporters and carry out other fun jobs.
